Here are some important facts and statistics around Community Policing in Vancouver

$10.25 million – The amount of money from traffic fine revenues the Provincial Government returned to the City of Vancouver in 2004 for crime prevention and policing initiatives.

9 – The current number of Community Policing Centres (CPCs) in Vancouver.

17 – The number of CPCs in Vancouver in 2003.

9 – The number of CPCs closed in Vancouver as a result of Provincial cuts and a comprehensive audit in June 2003. The remaining CPCs are responsible for the vast territory left behind as a result of the closures.

1992 – The year CPCs was first established in Vancouver. The first CPC in Vancouver is the Chinese CPC located in Chinatown.
